Hi there!

Anyone have any idea why there is a JAL 767-300ER sitting over at the Cargo Ramp at SEA this evening?

It came in as JL8002 from Narita just before noon on Saturday. I do not know any specifics on the reason for the flight.

Could JL be retiring their 767-300ER's in that it might be heading to Marana, AZ in the near-future?

JA608J is a 2004 built, they have much older birds in the fleet, I doubt it is ready for scrapping yet.

JL doesn't have regularly scheduled service to SEA now. JL flies the 767-300ER's between NRT and YVR. Why wouldn't they use it to SEA?

The Dreamliner is better suited for SEA-SAN; for the distance and runway length. Although, I hear their 777-200ER's did a pretty good job as a sub during the 787 grounding.

Almost certainly a charter. There was a JL 772 here at SEA a few months ago under similar circumstances (out of nowhere, 8xxx flight number, etc.).

If it was anything MX related, it wouldn't go to SEA but to PAE or MWH.

It's almost certainly a charter, and was still there at the southern freight area (where CI and BR, and formerly MP freighters park) this morning.
