Comments on putting federal scanners and bag checkers in airports. I think this would be a good idea but would like input from airline pilots. The news said earlier that the Office of Home Defense would oversee the FAA's future airport security measures. I don't think this would be a very good idea. The FAA has so much to do already and communication problems would probably occur between the two agencies/offices. Why not give the Office of H.D. immediate authority and oversight in airports and let the FAA handle the Sky Marshalls.
