I was reading that Lufthansa Cargo was supposed to begin once a week service to IND from FRA and then on to LAX on the 77F. It appears for now the plans have changed. Has this route been canceled or just postponed? Is there enough cargo demand with Cargolux already running LUX-IND-LAX? Any insight anyone can provide on this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm curious what changed the plan. It says it has removed its plan. Do we know for certain that it means permanently or does it mean it has removed its plan for now? I would figure that to operate the route there must have been some kind of corporate backing. Perhaps a contract. Did that fall through or is it just delayed?

There is a certain customer for whom such a flight is interesting and it Looks like CV is still handling this Business which Lh tried to get back. I am not sure how this is routed at the Moment but since LH had to reschedule their ORD ops after the 11 pm curfew was imposed at FRA and hence lost a lot of Business which arrived at ORD around 5 am for customs clearance and delivery early morning with trucking and same day delivery to places like IND they try to make new offers.
Flying direct to IND is one but they Need the base loads. .

Quoting PanHAM (Reply 3): There is a certain customer for whom such a flight is interesting and it Looks like CV is still handling this Business which Lh tried to get back.
So you think this was simply an attempt to regain a previous customer and not some kind of new customer deal? I am curious what kind of cargo facility IND is using to handle the CV flight and proposed flights like this one. I know they had at one point studied the idea of building an international air cargo facility but I never heard anything more about it.

There is a certain regular traffic between FRA and IND which LH lost after the 11 pm curfew was imposed. I cannot say where this Business went, such things are not published in the News.
However, flying direct I nto IND cuts out the trucking from ORD, with that basic traffic, other traffic to mid western cities can be sourced and it is a Chance to regain lost traffic.
LH is quite flexible in dealing with the restrictions at FRA, looking at the proposed freighter schedules I see that a flight from IAH to FRA makes a stop at MAN during the night and arrived FRA scheduled time 05h10 , 10 minutes after the curfew ends.
I am sure the do not make the stop a technical one but carry freight from IAH to MAN, possibly for the oil industry in Scotland.
