Hello,

Anybody in NZ or even Australia seen Freedom Air's new yellow painted 733. I did't no it existed until today when I saw it land at AKL, I wondered what on earth it was at first looks quite nice. I didn't get the rego so it may have been their old 733 ZK-FDM repainted. It parked outside the international terminal but came in from the South. Anybody seen this aircraft?

Also when do Freedom start AKL Gold Coast and AKL Newcastle. Anybody no When this starts?

Thanks Scott.  Smile

Heya NBT,

The aircraft that landed at 15:28 today was ZK-SJC, a 737-3U3 which came from Frontier Airlines. The flight was from CHC which suggests it may have been it's maiden flight in those colours.
Freedom also recently leased a 737-3Q8 from ILFC, which is registered 5W-ILF.

First flight from AKL to Gold Cost is SJ801 on 12 Nov, departing at 0715.

First flight to Newcastle is SJ901 (bad choice of flight number!) on 13Nov at 0715.

Rescheduled - it gave up it's slot to allow a running late 744 doing OSA-CHC-AKL to get to AKL a bit earlier - and one thing a 737 with a nice shiny new paint job doesn't want to do is follow a 747 too closely! ^_^

Thanks TG. How many 733's are SJ operating now 3?
and a 732 ZK-NQC. Didn't no about the ex PH733 though.

That 744 was doing NZ34 NRT-CHC-AKL and was me ZK-NBT as I saw it depart operating NZ6 to LAX got a couple of shots aswell.

Frontier doesn't have yellow colours, so why should the Freedomair have yellow colours if they have not painted it yer?

I photographed it today, pulled up on finals & recircled of AKL at about 11am this morning, but I got it later in the day twice. It looks great in my opinion, it was a highlight of the day, as well as the 2 AC 763s & ZK JNG.
