I have to fly from Boston to Anchorage, on either NWA or Delta. NWA is BOS-MSP-Anchorage; Delta is BOS-Salt Lake-Anchorage. All legs are on 757s. Any opinions?
Also, on NWA, they use the number "755" to describe the equipment used on these legs. I thought 757s came in two flavors--752 or 753. Any insights?

They are 757.NW has 2 versions.

755- has the four doors either side

756- has 3 doors on each side and has 2 overwing exits on each side

They are both 757-200.

The 757-300 will be arrving early next year!

Definitely Northwest riding on their 757's are the best.

Fly Northwest. Delta claims they are #1 but they really are not with their really cramped planes, bad customer service, bad inflight services, fares, dirty planes, etc.

Have a good flight.

Delta , To address customer service...I think it is Northwest that is known to be called "Northworst" on occasion. Delta has decent inflight service like *ANY* U.S. Major, Delta's fares are similar to all majors...and Most of the 757s are in the Middle or New Livery and therefore are not dirty (correct me if im wrong)

Northwest's frequent flier program is better than Delta's, and MSP was just named the second best airport in the nation (the facility, amenities, restaurants/shopping, etc.).

HOWEVER, Northwest just cut food service, although BOS-MSP is over 2 hours, as is MSP-ANC, so those flights most likely aren't affected.

I don't know, maybe I'm biased, but who would want to change planes at SLC?

As far as service, I've had several incidences of really hideous service on Northwest, but to be fair I've also experienced decent service on them as well. Seems the DTW hub and crews are much nastier than MSP-based personnel.

An unexamined life isn't worth living.

Not sure when and what time you are planning on going to ANC, but Delta does offer a B767-300 service from SLC. DL #199.

As for service I prefer Delta, but have never flown Northwest.

As for Co Lites opinion....he would rather fly anyone regardless who it is than fly Delta. I have yet to read anything positive he has said about Delta.

Have a good trip!

Doesn't SLC seem a little out of the way? Also, Northwest has the best customer service. I would choose Northwest. I have flown Delta, but I just did not like them.

In addition, Delta has that stupid "Fast Break service" on flights up to an hour, while NWA offers full beverage selection, and ATL is a total dump compared to MEM  Smile/happy/getting dizzy Memphis is one of the most ontime airports in the US. DTW Midfield will open soon, and it'll be great. I agree NWA has the best customer service. Express Airlines I is also good. You don't have gate agents screaming into the microphone in MEM, like to they at ASA in ATL, and Comair in CVG. They treat you like crap on DL Connection. Take NWA.

Desides. MSP to ANC has a full meal and a movie. Ive been on it. ANd for all those who think the NWA 757 doesn't ahve TV's, your wrong. I went to alaska a while ago for MSP and they had them. FLY NWA, great service, nice crew, great hubs, and nice planes.

Hey CO Lite :

Have you ever flown at all ?

How do you think Delta is the least affected airline at this time and ATL the airport with most pax a year , on behalf of the pepole that work in Delta's customer service , They are pretty good .

Besides CO is going down really fast , what do you think the reason for that would be ????

I know Continental sucks. I made the name a year ago, when they were good. And I don't think their Customer Service is any better. I have flown alot. I got stuck on Delta overnight, got rude service, the planes were miserable, and CVG was a mess. ASA is horrible. Its hilarious when you can get a Brasilia 120 Junkbird or Boeing 717-200 with AirTran to ATL from various southeast cities. Turboprops are the worst planes we could fly. The only good one I have seen is the Dash 8 Q400 and Saab 340's.

My opinion about COA is Gordon Bethune is a Buffoon. He is just using those "Award" Tactics to save his airline. Continental Express is even worse. Try jetBlue, they are an excellent airline with the best customer service in the U.S.A.
