"...at the same time United Airlines was telling Congress two weeks ago that it might go bankrupt without a bailout, UAL was wiring $11.25 million to a French airplane manufacturer as a down-payment on an order for 30 business jets. The luxury jets were built by Dassault Aviation at a cost of about $20 million apiece, the newspaper reported."
If I were one of the laid of UA employees, I'd be pretty pissed.

Either United is extremly dumb or there trying to pull a fast one on the Govt' to try and get some free money. Although it does seems sorta smart cause buisness keeps on going and most buisness men and women fly alot and will fly no matter what happens cause they have too.. Just my thoughts

I think it may be a good business decition on their part... CEO/CFO will probably feel more safe in a small jet with other CEO/CFO instead with a lot of people that they dont know.. and may be willing to pay a premium for that.. after all they have to travel!

Goodwin and Dutta are the worst since Lorenzo and Borman. They need to lay off the bad crack. If I had happen to work for them I'd be taking early retirement. Their popularity is equal to Ichan after he sold TWA's LHR authority.
