I already knew that Delta Connection was starting four flights daily Burbank service Nov. 1, BUR-SLC on their CRJ's and was excited about that. But as I was checking reservations for BUR-PHX I noticed six daily flights on Mesa CRJ's! I checked the ticket price with no Saturday night stay, and the most expensive fare is $71.50 with tax! Great BUR news.

Sorry to break the news to you but Skywest has announced that the BUR-SLC RJs will not be starting service on Nov 1. The equipment will apparently be used to replace some mainline flights.

Apparently EUG has the same fate. It's a shame -- my family is largely in EUG
Besides, United and Horizon are getting pretty boring at EUG, and I'm not fond of the America West service through PHX...

Are the 6 new Mesa CRJ flights replacing America West's 733 and A320 flights to PHX?
Is that $71.50 round-trip BUR-PHX, if so that's a great price.

I don't not like this. They are probably going to replace the 733/320 service with RJ's. I hope our pilots get a really good scope clause because America West Express is out of control. The more Mesa flights they add the less job security HP employees have. If they want to fly all these RJ's they need to use HP crews. HP's load factor was 59.8% for Sept. We had a higher load factor then WN did. The higher load factor is partially due to we were one the first airlines to resume flying. October bookings are up and Novembers dont look to bad.

The more I think about it, I really don't think the CRJ's could replace all the 733 and A320 flights. I flew the BUR-PHX route (1st flight of the day) 7 weeks ago and it was completely sold out. I haven't flown since the Sept.11 attacks but I can't imagine replacing 6 733 or A320 flights with 6 CRJ flights.
