Couldn't AZA take some advantage? ZRH it's quite near to MXP, and Air Europe and Volare Airlines both feed ZRH for (former) SAir Group from Italy, but their home base is in MXP. I could see more 8D and PE aircraft on MXP-ZRH flights, and once there pax switching to AZ aircraft and network (even if it has been dramatically reduced after 11th Sept.). AZ itself doesn't seem to change from ERJ-145 over larger aricraft.

If it happen, Volare+AirOne+Air Dolomiti will be under LH controll, so I will see a wrost future for AZ.

If SR does stay grounded, expect a major fight for the former SR gates at Zurich and Geneva, with AF, AZ, BA, LH and OS all wanting some of the ex-SR gates.
