You are correct....all these 5 airlines operate the 753 or plan to.

NW has also ordered 16 (was 19 but 3 converted back to 752's). Icelandair has ordered 2.

That's it (so far)

Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.

IMissPiedmont,
Icelandair doesn't get their first 753 until 2002.

Continental also has the 753 on order.

Air 2000 has 8 752's on order....the latter 4 are convertable the 753 but for the moment remain as 752's.

I wasn't aware that CIT Leasing had 753's on order....have they announced who they are placing them with?

Finnair had plans to lease two this winter for charters, but I don't know if they'll follow through.

Finnair is probably not leasing any additional aircraft this winter. They are releasing one MD-11 from the
HEL-JFK route and placing it on routes to the Canary
Islands for the winter.
I sure hope they would lease the 753 it would have
been cool to see that plane in Finnair colours Big grin Big grin

Boeing says that Air 2000 has 4 753 on order. these were going to cit but Air 2000 is the lessor. so what i ment to say is they are leasing them

Is it just me, or does the stretch convert a gorgeous, graceful looking aircraft into an ugly awkward looking beast ??

Also, when Boeing has a reputation for its products being overpowered, it surprised me that even the A340 seems to have better climb performance.

But, with the lowest operating costs for that sector of the industry (especially charter), I'm sure its day will come and the orders will start rolling in eventually.

Ya, the 753 does look unnaturally long....reminds me of the DC-8-63 a bit.

I think the 753 is a bit short on range....can't even due tranatlantic from UK-US eastern seaboard/Canada. A range increase could spark some orders with charter carriers.
