I'm planning to go to London sometime late in November for a week at most and was wondering if anyone knew of really cheap airfare, specifically lower than $350 which I found from BA. Thanks in advance.

Mike

I believe Air Canada are giving transatlantic flights away at the moment. Although you will need to change aircraft (in Montreal or Toronto), you might get to fly ex La Guardia. Try airlineconsolidator.com

Good luck!

Try Aer Lingus - they have a firesale on at the moment (which could well turn into a closing down sale)

I looked on aer lingus' website and the fare they published, $198 roundtrip to Dublin seems to come back at some outrageous price. Any explanation?

Where did you find that fare? On their website AC shows to be sold out. Did you use Airlineconsolidator?

The AA flights listed as Airbus are on an A300. AA has quite a few of those flying transatlantic. Definitely opt for the 777, in my opinion.

Icelandair is quoting $271 R/T+tax for JFK-LHR, with a stop in Rejykavik along the way. Aircraft is a 757-200 on all segments. If the $350 you were quoted is with tax, this offer doesn't help you very much. However, if it is without tax, you'll probably want to opt for Icelandair.

Side note, but f you fly AA to London, definitley take the newer 777s, but if not, try to get the A300s. They might be from the late 80s/early 90s, but they have updated interiors with PTVs in coach (the international ones, that is. Though AA is converting thier A300 fleet to run routes from Miami to Central America, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, and the Caribbean).

Thanks for the Icelandair quote, but when I go to there site and try to advance to the booking phase, it states that my inbound flight to JFK departs before the flight from LHR arrives in Reyjavic. This is untrue according to their schedule where it shows over an hour layover, yet their online booking will not accept this. Any ideas here?

Hmmmm...I'm afraid I can't tell you why that's happening. It'd probably be best to call Icelandair reservations to find out if you want to go with them.

However, I just looked up the fare, and it's listing 355.55, including tax. United, by comparison, is showing a fare of about $340, which is nonstop and on a 777 or 767-300ER. So I guess the Icelandair deal is not such a great one after all.

How is the Icelandair service, do they have PTV's and hows the food? Also, what is it like to cross the Atlantic on a 757?

Thanks again,
Mike

Try going through a consolidator for an Air India ticket.

Kuwait Airlines might be cheap but they are a 'dry' airline - meaning no booze on board. Air India is safe, and provides good reliable service. Plus you get mileage on Air France's Frequence Plus program!

Yes KU is dry, but unless you drink a lot on the plane, it's definitely worth considering. New B777 a/c, good service and "exotic" choice. And non-stop.

My Tutor flies regularly to JFK, and swears by Kuwait Airways.

Flight to London is only 6 hours or less, so you could probably wait for a beer until you get to London.

How's American's international service against say Delta's or United's. I'm probably going to fly one of them so I need some advice. Any specific insight for comparison would greatly help. Thanks Again.
