AF Launches New Campaign: France Is In The Air.

AF today, after 15 years of "Making the Sky the best place on earth" has changed their brand campaign.

The new sell-line: Air France. France is in the air.

It attempts to further position Air France as the ambassador of everything French. From style to cuisine and all in between.

Playful, yet elegant.

Tho I do miss the old beautiful/peace-inspired campaign.

Air France, France is in the air.

Some see lines, others see between the lines.

Well, when you're cramped in a 10 abreast 777 in coach with an outdated entertainment product, the sky is definitely not the best place on earth.

So that had to go.

I like it. It's much like the "Hawaii flies with us" tagline Hawaiian Airlines uses, to great success.

They are an excellent airline. The problem is that they are very inconsistent and their ground service leaves a lot to be desired. If they are able to correct this, I would not hesitate to travel with them again.

The linked article mentions the campaign will feature the new first class, when is this due to be shown to the public?

I'm curious to see the new campaign and hopefully a youtube video will launch soon for all of us to view.

I do miss the old tag-line, "Winning the Hearts of the World." Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh, those were the glory days, weren't they?

Good luck to Air France! I am looking forward to seeing all the new exciting changes for the Company!

Bon Voyage,

Personally I think this is probably a good move. Very soon most legacies will have quite similar types of hard products (seat designs, PTV interface and screen types..etc), hence enhancing the "cultural" experience on-board may be an attractive differentiation factor for some travelers.

Like the reference to their really cool vintage posters.

Looks like AF is working well on its way to "winning some hearts" back!
Good luck AF, and bravo for all the changes going on.

With all of this MH news and AF447 constantly being brought up the first thing I tought after I read the tag line was "unless your flying over the Atlantic"!!! I know it's just me and people won't think like I do but I had to share! Some won't think it's funny but I did.

Reminds of Royal Jordanian's 'Change is in the air' circa 2006.

Is it just a coincidence that they have chosen KLM Blue (more or less) for this campaign?

I.e., rather than choosing a shade of blue that matches AF's logo (and the flag).

Indeed. And although we have yet to see the other renderings, it looks like they dropped the red? I find the convergence really obvious here, more so than in any other field. Not a common identity but patterns that seem to put AirFrance and KLM (finally) on the same track.

And for the polls, I like it! Being after "making the sky the best place on earth" isn't easy but I think that one has got what it takes. AF has a lot of things to fix but the marketing dept often gets the job done!

I don't see convergence with KLM really in the colors chosen, but rather a continued move to a multi-colored, bright ad campaign that's been seen in their recent

Very strange phrase indeed, in my part of the world "up in the air" means being indecisive, so it seems like a rather inappropriate slogan for an airline to me!

So true.

And I would hope that my pilots were more competent than the two at the controls of AF447 when it went down.

The timing could be good for AF. It has been some years since AF447 and now MH370 is in everybody's mind...

OMG !!! ENOUGH ! I go to the US all the time but I am not stuck up about all the ignorant and the obesity and people screaming in restaurants thinking that the whole attendance has to know how important they are ! I won't think that the whole country is just made of them.

ENOUGH with this "french people stink" !

I travelled on a Delta flight in economy class and spent my whole flight with upper body in the aisle because the american passenger next to me smelled soooo bad ! Body odor is every where !

ENOUGH !

Another stupid and useless comment. Starting to wonder what some people are really doing on this forum?

On a flight in C IAH-CDG on an A340, I woke up in the middle of the night. An FA that I noted while at the gate because she was very beautiful and young immediately came over. I said "Excusé moi mademoiselle, mai, j´ai faim. Je suis desolé pour avoir vous derangé a cet heur." she immediately knelt beside me and said with a pretty smile "Ne vous preocuppez pas, monsieur, nous sommes ici que pour ca." She then went off and prepared some canapés for me. I thought I was in a commercial.

It´s that kind of service that I´ve missed on AF for the past 6 years. I have heard they are getting better. I wish them luck with this campaign.
