It just seems like with all of the "start-up" airlines out there, competition has become very strong. Many of these new airlines are finding out that they just can't compete in the market. WinAir was a start up out of LGB. It started like wildfire. They expanded routes in a short amount of time, they hired a whole bunch of people and set out on that course to be just like the "big boys". They failed real bad. They just couldn't compete. It's kind of sad. These Airlines, like WinAir, are good for the industry. It was sad to see so many people loose their jobs at WinAir. I knew a lot of them.

TWA may be operating "in the red" but they will bounce back. They are developing a real strong passenger base and with the new aircraft the are getting, they will be fine. The skies would'nt be the same without TWA. As far as the first US carrier....Not sure. Sorry.

Hey, I wasn't trying to make you cry!! You asked a question and I tried to answer. WinAir flew 737's. They had mostly 200's with a few 300's and I think 1 400. I worked there ramp at SMF. They contracted AWA ramp service.

I meant the part where the people got "Chao You Yu"(That means you're sacked in Chinese)sacked.

Anyway,for your info,"Chao You Yu" Is a Singaporean term for sacked.
