I think Delta should revise the current livery and add this other design to the engine cowling. I know that this section of the engine belongs to the old old livery, but I like it like this, what do you guys think?

I do like the idea of keeping the logo, it puts a little more colour on the engine.

Delta ought think about a complete new livery because the last second liverys looks horrible !

The old livery was also not my favorite.

Compared to AA's livery, Delta's is not too bad, but it does need a lot of work. AA should have adopted the TWA scheme when they took over. The red, white, and blue on the TWA planes that still have them are beautiful.

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

God, not another change for DL - they have three liveries in their active fleets, and they do not need any more confusion...

I thought the 1997 remake was great. A clean update of the old one. I was horrified when the 2000 livery came out...but it's growing on me now. I find it it bright & clean.

The Delta 'widget' logo is a bit messy for my liking. But adding it to the engines would be a nice touch. I like the new Delta Express livery with 'Express' filling up the entire fuselage.

The new new 2000 Delta livery is one of the best out there today!!! They need to stick to one scheme, and please let it be this one.

The DL livery could be equated and hopefully doomed like the BA "international art work" tail scheme. Do you really think having three livery's at one time on the fleet is looking coordinated? I see them mix and match nose and engine cowls between all the liveries. Looks so professional?

Could they just push those coach/tourist class seats a little more closer on that 767 400? Why doesn't DL just go ahead to an eight across seating arrangement on the 767 fleet? Ouch, what a crowded bird.

What was once one of the best airlines flying has turned, well mediocre "high density charter class" at best. They have quality people, but the coach product has suffered, plus with the reduction in Business Elite/First class real estate on board... it is nill to none on the medellion upgrade front.

At least AA has "more room" and does not have to own a paint store franchise. (Can carry more frieght too.)

CO has to own a paint franchise, but their aircraft do not appear as cramped. More lav's, and more "J/C" class seating. (As compared on the 767 400 type aircraft carrier to carrier.)

What's with the fabric looking wave on the tail? Is that some sort of an SU (Aeroflot) knock off look? It surely is too crumpled to be a flag, may be drapery?

Leave the exterior paint "what is was, is, stop" spend more on the interior accomodation. As they claim the passengers are not exactly hanging from the overhead storage bins lately.

What pissed me off a little, was that DL never painted an L-1011 in the 1997 scheme. TWA painted a 741 and an L-1011 in their new schemes.

Has DL painted any MD-11's in the new scheme yet?

Yeah, and some of the L-1011's looked really dirty toward the end...

No MD-11's in the 2000 colors yet (4 old colors, 11 1997 colors right now)

Sorry you don't approve. Maybe next time you as a passenger would appreciate it when Delta cancels your flight out of ATL because they couldn't find a thrust reverser sleeve that was painted in the matching livery.

CO has to own a paint franchise, but their aircraft do not appear as cramped. More lav's, and more "J/C" class seating. (As compared on the 767 400 type aircraft carrier to carrier.)

Really? I think that's news to them... First of all, you're comparing apples and oranges. The 764 handles transatlantic flying for Continental. Delta, on the other hand, is strong enough domestically to fly a high capacity aircraft. The 767-400 serves that mission for us. So comparing CO BizFirst to Delta Domestic First Class isn't exactly fair. But, if you insist, then fine. You're wrong. Delta has 36 premium seats on the 767-400, Continental has 35. Looking at the 777, Delta offers 52 BizElite seats and Continental offers 48 BizFirst. Delta BusinessElite has 60 inch pitch, Continental BusinessFirst has 55 inch pitch. You sure CO has more "real estate" up front?

Also, before you bash BizElite, I suggest you try it. I'm not going to say a thing about CO in this category... both Delta and Continental have industry leading premium J class products as far as service is concerned.

What's with the fabric looking wave on the tail? Is that some sort of an SU (Aeroflot) knock off look? It surely is too crumpled to be a flag, may be drapery?

Not a drapery.... on the contrary, it's the image of the carrier that will likely finish this disastrous period sitting atop the industry as we know it. So stop bashing Delta. Check your facts and then come talk to me about how Delta sucks.

It's a new day. Every moment matters. Now, more than ever.

Do you think that the lack of MD-11's in the new scheme is a precursor to their early removal from the fleet?

I haven't seen any news regarding DL MD-11 retirement. Has there been some indication?

Neil/Toronto

PS. I like both DL and CO.  Smile

To the MD11 Question: None are in the 2000 design, but the first one to be painted will be ship 814 which is currently in the pre-change design- the widget/pre 2000 and 97 changes- in January at the PAE paint shop.

I, as well, was horrified when Delta changed from their 1997 scheme, which I LOVED!  Love

However, the more I look at the new scheme the more I like it, but I really wish they hadn't left only "Delta" on the fuselage instead of "Delta Air Lines" which looked really nice. IT needs something but it's still good.

It especially looks good on their 764:

Yes the widget logo would be very good, but iam a person that likes things to match, they should put the new widget the clivery and titles on owl along with a slither of the red dash cowl as shown.

As a frequent flyer , i flew on Delta from jfk to cdg in coach class and i want to tell you how disappointed i was by the service, the lack of room of the plane (cramped seats, old colours of the cabin which make you sad) compared to AA or european airlines such as AF or BA,the inflight entertainment was bad (no ptv, earphones of the 50's generation, only one movie) the food was not good at all served on small tray compared to AF or LH with a real big tray; no drink service before the meal. The blanket was very thin, no comfort kits. The european airlines are much more better on the transatlantic sector than DL.The plane i flew with was a 767. I think i will avoid DL and on a codeshare basis, i 'll do my best to fly with AF or AA as long it will be in coach class.
