I'm not trying to jump the gun, but I thought you might like to know that Cleveland Hopkins International Airport has just been shut down by the F.B.I. There are no details available at this time, but I thought you might be interested.

I live in the East suburbs of Cleveland. I was watching WJW FOX 8 News and Tim Taylor came on with breaking news. All they said was the F.B.I. has closed CLE but they had no information as to why. That's all I know. Sorry.

Everything seems normal on the scanner. ATIS is normal other than that the ILS to 24L is inoperative and the ILS approach to 28 is in use. Lima is current. Nothing that indicates its shut down at least on the scanner.

Yeah I know the planes are landing on 28. Between the gusts of wind practically bringing snow on us, there are the planes landing over my house!! When the airshow was in town, it was beautiful weather, so I took a chair outside in my backyard, sat down, put a glass of cola next to my chair, scanner in one hand, camera in the other. With my 80-200 mm lens with a 2X converter, I took this pic from my backyard.

I work there folks; if the airport was closed, no one knew about it who was working. We didn't even have any delays from this "closing".
Apparently, someone called in a bomb threat-that a bomb would exploede at curbside checkin. It was apparently phoned into WJW-TV in CLE as well. The FBI has given the all-clear.

Looks like FOX 8 screwed up. For all of you making fun of our weather, well, you have every right too! Just got home and there were wet snowflakes falling on the East side and wind chills in the low 20's. Gotta love it in October.

The Skycap company at CLE received a bomb threat at about 7:30PM. The F.B.I. ordered an immediate ground stop which lasted all of 30 minutes. It was obviously a hoax and was no big deal.
