Iran Air A330-200; Not 300 Version

IR have converted their order for 4 A330-300 into the version 200, when did this happen and why? didnt they want to replace the 747s especially the SP's with the A330-300 Confused

Perhaps they wanted the extra range of the -200? Its not much shorter than a -300...
