Frontier Airlines Receives Authorization to Reinstate Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Service (October 18, 2001)

DENVER (Oct. 18, 2001) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today announced it has received authority to reinstate its daily, non-stop service between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Denver International Airport (DEN) during Phase II of DCA's reopening, which begins Oct. 26. The airline will confirm its start up date and flight schedule information for its resumed service once details have been finalized.

Frontier President and Chief Operating Officer Jeff Potter stated, "We are thrilled to be included in the reopening of Reagan National and applaud the outstanding efforts of Secretary Mineta and the Bush administration in restoring service at our nation's capital. This is great news for the city of Denver and the Colorado community, and we are extremely grateful for the supportive efforts shown us by the Colorado delegation, Colorado Governor Bill Owens, Denver Mayor Wellington Webb and Denver International Airport Manager of Aviation Bruce Baumgartner. We are working with the Federal Aviation Administration and other federal law enforcement agencies to ensure we meet all enhanced security measures, and we look forward to bringing Frontier's affordable fares back to Washington D.C."

The airline originally received two beyond perimeter slots in July 2000 as a result of the Wendell H. Ford Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century ("AIR 21"), and subsequently inaugurated the first beyond perimeter flight at DCA on Sept. 7, 2000.

Sure is great news! I seriously thought that this flight was gone.

Afterall, this is the only DCA service from DEN.

Great news indeed. Wish they could get authority for a second (or even third, dare we dream) daily flight.

Next Up: STL-DEN-SLC-SFO-PDX-ORD-STL in 25 hours. Two more states off my list.
