Swissair's new winter schedule is here. Newark is back, but Atlanta and San Francisco are not returning (ATL was pre-9/11, however). Also cut is one of two dailies to Boston, two ZRH-JFK flights, and YUL-ZRH is now 5x weekly (I thought this used to be daily, I maybe wrong). Trans-Atlantic flights:
Daily from Zurich to Boston Logan, Chicago O'Hare, JFK, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, Sao Paulo (continuing on to Rio de Janiero 2x a week), and Washington Dulles
Daily from Geneva to JFK
Five times a week from Zurich to Buenos Aires, Montreal Dorval
Cut:
Atlanta (pre-9/11), Dallas (only the codeshare), San Francisco, Santiago de Chile

How about European destinations? Anyone know whether Swissair will return to OSL? I miss them! They used to have 3 daily departures to ZRH. Nowadays there is only one Crossair departure to ZRH, in addition to the "old" Crossair flight to BSL. Sad...

I am very happy to know Swissair is returning to Newark after all. It was always nice to see the A330 in SR colors there. However, I think Swissair now faces some very stiff competition. American is re-starting its JFK-Zurich flights tomorrow (10/28), Delta is likely to resume its JFK-ZRH flight, and Continental's EWR-ZRH flight has been quite successful.
Dropping Atlanta comes as no surprise. Without Delta as its partner, that route makes no sense and SFO is a bit of a long-shot. The two daily ZRH-BOS flights also seemed a bit much.

The 2nd daily SR in BOS isn't really a "2nd daily". It is a 2nd daily SEASONAL for the SUMMER ONLY, just as LH adds a 2nd daily during the summer as well.
