Hum this to the tune of Gangster's Paradise or Amish Paradise. It is great!

As I drive to the airport where I watch all the planes
I take a look at Southwest and - boy they all look the same
But that's just perfect for a spotter like me
'Cause airlines of today have much variety
At 4:30 in the mornin' we're dissin' chores
Ryan Hales drives his Chevy and Jeff D. snores... drool
An' I've been spottin' and shootin' so long that
Even both my parents think my mind is gone

I'm a man pretty poor, I'm into Kodachrome
As I walk out the door "...don't know when I'll be home..."
But I'll spot all my planes and when you spot thine
Then tonight we'll have a slide show - shots from 1969

We been spottin' most our lives
Hangin' in a Spotter's Paradise
Been ta Hong Kong once or twice
Shootin' in a Spotter's Paradise
I've had tea and pork fried rice
Grubbin' in a Spotter's Paradise
They sell film at too high price
Scammin' in a Spotter's Paradise

A spotter friend beat me to the 'port last night
He didn't spot one new plane - I guess it serves him right
He got really pissed, in fact he got quite mad
He even tore up his JP which later made him quite sad
But I ain't never jumped a fence even if it was easy
A spotter with a record?
You know that's unheard of
I rarely get a ramp shot, but I got a long lens
And my homies agree
That I've lost all my sense... cool

If you like shootin' AA, you'll be bored to tears
They haven't even changed their paint job in the past 30 years
And they look really shiny, but please don't waste your shots
They're just photogenically lost

There's no jets, no props, no spotter's deck
Not a single lousy tree
Like visitin' Hemet Valley
It's as boring as can be

We've been spendin' most our lives
Livin' in a Spotter's Paradise
We're just plane 'ol photo guys
Shootin' in a Spotter's Paradise
No time for dates or social lives
Alone in our Spotter's Paradise
We're not bold, we're kinda shy
Hidin' in our Spotter's Paradise

Loadin' up the camera, heart is all a flutter
Shot a Concorde Monday, soon I'll shoot another
You think you've seen the whole fleet?
You think you've seen them all?
Well I know of a place that'll make that 'ol jaw fall
I'm the slyest guy the little spotters wanna be like
Spottin' planes day and night - loggin' regys way past midnight
So don't be jealous and don't be whiny
Or else, my brother, I'll jus' whip out me logbook on your heinie

We've been spottin' most our lives
Cruisin' to a Spotter's Paradise
We fly every day and night
Goin' to a Spotter's Paradise
Whiz past cops and traffic lights
Speedin' to a Spotter's Paradise
Someday they'll read us our last rites
Chillin' in a Spotter's Paradise

Wow this was posted half way down the page instead of at the top. That is weird.

Although i'm afraid Coolio's body of work may be beyond the frame of reference of most of the a.net members!

N17085--

Nice work dude. Big grin

Wondering if I can post this up on my air transport resource website if I cite the appropriate sources. It'll go in the humor section.

http://spotting.imkeww.com

As you can see, right now there are 3 songs (not finished yet). Some of my friends have done the AirTran (I will survive) parody, and I have to finish doing the AA wAAnts it thAAt wAAy song with my friend.

Trying to add as much content in there as possible!

Let me know... SFOintern@hotmail.com

Thanks

Hey,

That is really, really good...Can I suggest you send that into Airways or Airliners magazine, they do a "humor" section at the back, and that is just perfect for it.

Great job!

OK. You all can do whatever you want to with it. But, there is one slight problem. I don't know if you all know anything about copywrite laws, but please help me on this. I would just let you guys take it without hesitiating, but the lyrics came from another website. It says at the bottom lyrics copyright 1997. And on the main page it says last updated 1997. This was a while ago. Also, there is no e-mail address on the site to ask for permission. So I have a dilema, what should I do?

Nice music. I feel a record deal is not far away.... Anyway, when you mentioned Hemet Valley, are you talking about California? I lived in Hemet for six months, and it made me laugh to read that because Hemet is such a.. shall we say... Senior citizens, mobile home, retirement paradise?

If it said "Copyright 1997", you're fcuked, mate. Try to see if you can contact the original author to get permission to use it.
