Money standards for ATCs were raised after the strike in the early 1980s. However, various positions make various earnings. $100,000 as an ATC is pretty damn good. A Class C ground controller will make around $28,000, or the same amount as a teacher. This dude must have been some hot rod. Probably a supervisor at a major facility. The most well paid ATC position is the supervisor of the TRACON and Centers at JFK and LAX who probably make around $120,000.
