Hello,

Would anyone remember when NWA started services to Ngoya - Komaki (NGO) please?

IIRC, the flights originates in LAX.

I think about 2 years ago or so. The flight is DTW_NGO.

NWA used to have couple of flights out of Nagoya.

Currently, they have daily non-stop 744 flights to Detroit and Manila.

nwa has been in ngo for over 10 yrs...they used to fly hnl-ngo.....now only service is daily to detroit and manila.....

Favre is correct... NW started NGO service from HNL many years ago. They bought the route authority from America WEst when that failed for them. The flight was flight 89, LAX-HNL-NGO for many years. Then retimed to just HNL-NGO. This service was discontinued I'm thinking in 1998 when service to FUK was also dropped. This service was always flown with a DC10.

NW serves NGO daily:

NW FLT 71 : DTW-NGO-MNL 747-400
Travel Time: 19hrs 5mins

NW FLT 70: MNL-NGO-DTW 747-400
Travel Time: 16hrs 45mins

I never said that NW pulled out of NGO. I merely mentioned that they dropped the HNL service.

NWA and MAS were planning to use NGO as a Trans-Pacific hub about a year ago but approval for their code-share has only just come through. Odd - seeing that they were granted anti-trust immunity a year ago.

Things however have taken a turn for the worse with Sept 11th and all that - so NGO hub plans may be delayed if not shelved.
