My name is Sam Chui. I am relatively new here, this is in fact only my 2nd topic headline post. I hope my topic have not been brought to the death before.
I am wondering, out of the current schedule of any airlines in the world, which one have the longest non-stop scheduled service (longest distances or flying time) using aircraft such as DC10, MD11, B747classic (all models incl combi)
I know Varig used MD11 flying between GRU-NRT/NGO, but there's a stop in LAX, so cannot counted as they stated 13000+miles (because of one stop enroute). Also, please aware I am asking current schedule or last season, not 10 years or 20 years ago when B747/DC10 classic is the main working horse for long haul!
I am curious to know this, so next time may be can use this info to fly on a tri-jet or jumbo classic a little longer inside!

Hey. NW flies SEA-AMS non-stop with DC-10s, and used to fly SEA-HKG non-stop with 742s. That flight was about 13-14 hours, west-bound. United also flew DC-10s on this route, that had to be one of the longest routes for that aircraft. Does Garuda still fly 742s from Indonesia to Europe? That would be pretty long.

CO no longer has DC-10s. I wouldn't discount DL ATL-NRT in MD-11. I believe FedEx flies eastbound only in MD-11 from KIX to MEM. I know you don't want to hear old routes, but I think longest MD-11 route ever was DL's ill-fated LAX-HKG (headwinds usually forced tech stop in ANC or HNL). Currently, NW19 from MSP to NRT might be longest -200 route.

Hi NWA ARJ,
I believe you, 6 hrs from MSP-NRT (they scheduled about 12.5h) or MSP-AMS, but you must be super lucky everytime you on Board NWA, they must having a tail wind of 600KM/h, or 350miles/h pushing the plane go just about as fast as a concorde! and saving lots of fuels for NWA!
I believe right now Alitalia MXP-EZE is longest MD11 nonstop leg. But yes, before Delta illfated MD11 from LAX-HKG no doubt was the longest, another reason they didnt do well is because of lack of tour agent selling their seats.(and quite poor connection in LAX, at least DL is not as big as UA/AA/WN in LAX)
