Hello everyone!

LY's management confirmed today that LY will axe this month (only for the winter time... atleast that what they say...)
the following destinations:

DUS, NBO, SIP and VIE.

Services to VIE will continue to be offered by LY's codeshare with Austrian.

rumour says that MRS will be added to the list really soon... might be followed by JNB....

Yep, demand decreases and LY's network shrinks  Sad

Thats really sad.

Michael.

Doesn't know if it has been mentioned before but McKinsey seems to advise ELAL not to take delivery of the 4th B777. I read the news on Bloomberg but as far as I know it's still unconfirmed. Moreover, McKinsey at ELAL? No wonder LY is axing routes (wonder if they also axer some employees).

Regards
Laurens

Thats right. McKinsey advises El Al not to hurry with the 4th 777. And much more....

I'll post more about it A.S.A.P

The yields on JNB are terrible - rather leave the route to codeshare partner SAA!

LY operates the fligths to JNB on a joint operation basis with SAA, if LY leaves, no flights between TLV and JNB at all.
