read yer post about southwest.....

i bought my $84 round trip TPA-FLL ticket the next day, with no second thoughts.

so, yer little rant doesnt make a difference after all.

nuff said.

as a southwest supporter, and hopefully future employee, i feel the need to stick up for this often bashed airline.

bottomline here is, WN is doing things differently, and is very successfull at it. when that happens, it upsets "status-quo" type people. WN is a mavrick airline, and the big airlines run in fear when they come to town. (now by run in fear, i dont mean leave, but lower their prices, and otherwise make a stink) they are one airline that the biggies arent gonna run into the ground.

lets look at some facts:

WN gives people what they want. affordable air travel. in just about every survey, pax say that is most important.

WN has one of the best on time %...and still they do this w/ a friendly attitude most of the time. (its impossible not to piss SOMEBODY off nowadays)

they dont feed pax....so what? most of their flights are short, so pax can pick something up at the airport, or before or after a flight. no biggie.

now, i know this isnt a big deal, but they have theme planes, and from a spotters point of view, thats awesome!

my point here is, im tired of all the airline bashing going on. be it airlines, boeing, airbus, or what ever. if u had a bad experience, think before u type. not eveyone is going to be satisfied w/ their flights all the time. i had a bad flight on delta, and u dont see me all pist about it on here.

wait, this isnt gonna stop...why am i even bothering?

You put me in my place, Brian. I'm sorry for what I said about NWA...

A lot of what you said was never in dispute. No one was really bashing the airline per se, just the no-frills experience in general. They have an excellent reputation, on time record, excellent service, excellent maintenance, all that good stuff.

But they aren't God's gift to aviation either. Learn to accept a little criticism hmm?

You tell them Brian!!! Most of those low fares pax get these days is because of the actions done by Southwest or some other low fare carrier. Some people are not appreciative of the actions done by the likes of WN, FL, etc.(My opinion BTW)

Brian, I hope you'll get a carrer at WN. I'm sure they could use an attitude like yours!!

Take care everyone.

When I read all the posts on the Southwest Airlines topic, I was about ready to quit the forum. When I first entered this forum 7 months ago, I never saw so many complaints. Also, I don't buy that excuse that the negative posts on the Southwest topic is criticism. It's not constructive, it doesn't solve anything, it in no way offers any ideas or concepts on what could be done to have a more enjoyable flight, or the good aspects of a particular flight. The topic was started as an ego booster. Someone starts a topic condemning a certain airline, then people hop on the bandwagon and bash it as well. If you care so much about sharing your complaint with everyone, ask how they felt about it, list good aspects, do it constructively. The SWA post is nothing but nonsensical compaints. But the SWA post isn't the only one. First it was TWA, which angered me enough already, then Northwest, and now Southwest. I miss the posts when people were aplauding airlines, such as a USAirways post a while back. It's gotten out of hand. I hope it stops soon.

a little criticism is fine w/ me. but u have to admit there is a LOT of it on here, and A LOT of it is unjustified.
