The New Airbus A340-500/600 Is Beautiful!

Today I was at Airbus' website, and for the first time I actually looked INDEPTH at the new A340-500/600.

It is absolutely beautiful. Those engines certainly look a lot like the 747 engines.

From the back at an angle, the A340-500/600 looks like a 747 but with one deck.

Absolutely a beautiful aircraft.

Although I prefer the A340-500. I think the A340-600 is just too long, but maybe I'll get used to it over time.

I love the A340s. But the 600 just seems to be a little too long.

I didn't think that the 345 had been rolled out yet so how can you compare the 2. I havn't seen the 600 yet but it does look a little long in those photos. Those engines do look alot better than say the 343. Smile

It's so elegant and graceful!!!
It seems to be more a bird than an airplane.

I remember when the first prototype was photographed (admittedly in rather unfetching bare factory green and silver), someone at Airliners.net (in a pro Seattle hissy fit) said the A340-600 was so ugly he'd be embarrassed to be seen getting off one. Blimey.

I really like the A330's and A340s when it comes to looks. My all time favourite is the 330-200. The new A340-600 looks so unnaturally long, like the airframe's been stretched to its limit or somthin'... .anyway the 500 is still nice Big thumbs up

.....By the way... anyone know when Air Canada's taking delivery of the first 340-500/600?

I sure hope so too Oscar2 to see NWA A340-500s or 600s with P&W 4000 series engines! These would be a perfect replacement for NWA's 747-200 Classics and they will have the same cockpit commonality with NWA's A330-300s.

The 346 looks good, but perhaps just a little long. Maybe the 500 will look even better!

Yeah, the back of the A346 is over streached unlike the B773. I think the A346 is out of porportion.
