I heard rumor that Virgin would start service to YVR (Vancouver). Can antone verify or provide a date. It is about time we had some competition for the YVR-LHR route.

thx Ryan

Not any time soon! VS just pulled out of ORD and YYZ....2 much bigger markets than YVR.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Ryan, VS started flying to YYZ in June with much fanfare etc. They pulled out suddenly in Sept. Although they flew to LGW, they provided competition for AC, BA, C3, TS etc.

I do recall reading that YVR was on their wish list as the 2nd Canadian city to be added....who knows, as the economy improves, maybe VS will move back into Canada.

VS wasn't about to bleed money waiting for loads to build up at YYZ. With 40+ weekly flights to London from YYZ, there's still plenty of choice for London-goers.

That's true Wate2. They did provide the only sked service to LGW though. It was also a coup to YYZ to get VS anyway.

When I mentioned a need for competition I was refering to the YVR-LHR route.

Virgin will return to YYZ first, then thinking about launching YVR.

Currently, BA and AC flies YVR-LHR.
