In a word, no. Other than that JetBlue posted a small Q3 profit.

I would also like to just interject that as long as the airlines and the FAA continue to hold us travellers (and my hobby) hostage, I hope that US airlines start falling like dominoes....one by one....until...if this is what it takes....every single last US carrier is in Chap XIII liquidation.

If that's what it takes to figuratively grab the FAA, the US Gov't and the airlines by the ears and say "WAKE UP", then so be it.

Qantas ordered 15 737-800s.
Midwest Express signed a LOI for 20 717s.
Concorde back in service, & also visiting Andrews AFB.
Jetblue beginning service out of LGB.
I'm sure there are other positive news in aviation. You just have know where to look for it. Regards.

Johnnie,

Well it looks like we have a few buyers lining up to purchase what remains of the best domestic airline in the world. Ansett Australia.

At the very least 4,000 staff will get their jobs back.

Cheers,

mb

British airways cheif exc has slagged off hollywood, especially bruce willis for being a wuss.

thats pretty funny.

Ansetts coming back is good news for everyone.alilitilia joining skyteam, well if i was a delta fan id be rather disappointed that they couldnt find anything better.

Concorde is back and was supported by Tony Blair who flew on it yesterday.

what ever happens our industry will still survive in some form, look at airliners, still growing in members.

It is amazing what can be accomplised when nobody takes the credit

Dear Johnie,
Do not fret, my friend. For one thing, the Concorde, the flagship aircraft of BA and AF, is back, and it will continue to fly for a long long time to come. The second is that Emirates has placed a massive $15 bn order for state-of-the-art aircraft from Boeing and Airbus, which reflects the fact that the Asia Pacific region, including the Middle East is going to be buoyant
area regarding the aviation sector in the coming decades. However bad the current situation may seem, believe me , there is ALWAYS a light at the end if the tunnel, and thing are going to improve.I dont know when or how, but the current crisis in world aviation is going to pass and in the long term ( read 10-20 years)
the aviation sector is poised for long term growth and success. Also, the current crisis will ultimately seem like a blip on the otherwise successful aviation story. As my father once said to me, and I truly believe this, the road of success is always littered with failures, and failure is part of success. The crisis is a failure, but it is going to be part of an ultimate success story - the success story of commercial aviation in the twenty - first century. So dont dwell on the crisis, mate but draw inspiration from the light at the end of the tunnel

I saw a B727 today.. Smile/happy/getting dizzy

A photo I took of a BAe 146 in September came out really well. Ones of cabins views taken from B737 didn't come out too bad either.. Smile

With airlines cutting so much capacity and staff now (probably too much), they will surely find themselves short of staff etc in the near future when traffic picks up. So just be a little patient. There will definitely be lots of good news.
