I notice many people described the sound of aircraft as something, such as: sound of Airbus A320 family as a "yelping dog being blended." I think is funny!! And is true!! I remember everytime I fly YVR-HKG/HKG-YVR on CP 747-400 (now AC), after the engine started on idle, the CF6 sounds like a woman was crying in a corner softly~~~ And this is my feeling of a 747-400 with CF6 engine... Airliners are so unique, they have thier own behavior, characteristic.... I wish they all come alive!!! So that I can have a 747-400 as my girlfriend....hahaha... Anyway, Tell me how you feel about other engine/aircraft...etc

Hey HKniceguy, nice thought! Now I guess you can try both former CP 744 and AC 744 Combis and see if they have different sound, I'd be so interested in knowing if they have different kind of sound. I guess maybe it'll depend on the weather and weight? Anyways, it's kindda insteresting!
Also, do A343s make such noises too? A343s are far more quite than the B744s, but they still make some noises of course. Have you noticed anything about Airbus?
Thx!
Regards,
Wolfy
P.S., r u in YVR? Do you knwo any good place for plane spotting in YVR?

I guess I will take all of the B747s as girlfriends in the world! By the way HKniceguy, have you stood under the approach path of a runway hear a very heavy B744 taking-off from the opposite direction and when she passes you overhead he is about 300 - 500 feet above you? Man you will love it. Trust me

Rob,
Is Ben and his van still by the fence at the South Terminal? Last time I saw him he was moving in with someone so he could get a permanent address and get a job as security. How's he doing?

Ben? You mean the fat-old-stinky-smelling-ugly-Ben? Luckily I haven't seen the guy in ages. He's the only guy at YVR who just rubs me the wrong way... along with about 90% of the others. I realize the guy's hard-up and all, which I can be sympathetic about, but he's such an a$$hole about everything, it makes you wonder sometimes. No offence, but there are way better (and more knowledgeable) people you could be chilling with at YVR. The guy pisses on car tires for crying out loud, and takes showers every fortnight...a real winner I tell ya. But like I said, if only he was friendly to the other photographers and myself, I'd be willing to put up with some his, well, rather large (no pun intended) discrepencies. I don't wish the guy harm, but the more he's not around, the better off we all are.
I'm sure other locals reading this can relate... I'm not the only one.
I don't like offending people, but it can only go so far. So I've said my peace.
