Not only Sabena has seen it's end, also the Afghan airline ARIANA has end operations.
According to the Dutch NewsAgency, 1800 people will be fired. Ariana only flew on domestic routes.
I have seen pictures from Ariana aircraft at LHR and Paris but these were from the 70's.

Ariana wasn´t allowed to fly international routes.
The airline has been sanctioned by the UN.

I think their last international flight was a flight to Dusseldorf and back to Kabul when Ariana´s B727-200 YA-FAY came to Germany on August 18th to carry home some 60 children that were treated by a medical organisation in Oberhause (near Dusseldorf).

For this aid flight the UN has given a special permittance to Ariana that were allowed to enter international airspace! These pictures taken of YA-FAY (some are uploaded from YA-FAY´s last year´s visit here on a.net) are very indeed!
