What is this plane used for? It has a huge SCD for a 733.

Its a combi, for freight and passengers. As a military aircraft it could carry all sorts of things.

There are a few more combined aircraft.
Lufthansa converted a few B737-300 to combined freight and passenger planes naming them QC (Quick change)!

But right now they are selling them because these are worn and old now!

It's not a B737-300, it is a US Navy C40 which is a special (B737-700).

LH`s 73QCs did not operate joint pax/cargo flights but weeknightly intra-german mail flights. At these occassions all seatpallets were removed to give way for several large cargo containers filled with mail...
But this was back in the "good old days"...

Actually I am surprised that Alaska hasn't tried to get a couple of -700's built as combis.

They would be more suited for the ANC-SEA freight run that the -200QC's are running on now.l
