Is Canada 3000 going down like Midway did?

What is going on? And hear I thought the Canadian industry was shaking itself down when Canada 3000 consolidated its smaller competitors, leaving Air Transat, Westjet, and AC,and itself as Canada's major airlines.

Interesting how in all of this recent news about AC and Canada 3000 losing money, we haven't heard much about Air Transat.

Oh No, I was HOPING they would stick around this weekend at least so I could shoot their 340 and 319. I really need some shots of those planes, the 319 is brand new, delivered 2 weeks ago. Don't care much for the airline itself though (I did for Royal) but I do care about the jobs of thousands of people, ESPECIALLY Nuno and Slawko.

the best indication of how crazy this is is to look at the "Press Releases" section on canada3000.com. There are TWO press releases there that came out today. The first one, which came out some time this afternoon, is titled "Canada 3000 very optimistic about future prospects". The SECOND one is entitled "Canada 3000 ceases operations". What a day.

Next flight.... who knows.

I bet my mortgage that Tango will magically disappear in the very near future. A sad day for Canadian aviation. Gotta feel for travelers in the east coast- almost no choice of carriers now. Imagine the those vacationing in numerous sunspots who booked through C3...I've no clue how they'll get home.

they just said at the 00:00 news ago that C3 was given 45 days to build a reasonable "plan" for the bank and now this.

I hope its just a bad joke

If it's a bad joke, one would wonder why C3 has posted it on their website.

I cant believe Canada 3000 has ceased ops, another sign of the terrible shape in which the aviation industry is in. Hope to see Canada 3000 back on its wings soon.

I don't want Canada 3000 to be gone, I really don't... BUT, if they're gonna be gone, I hope to see Westjet lying in and out of YYZ and YUL within a couple weeks. We need them.

Next flight.... who knows.

The cash is all but gone....and for ANY restructuring to work the trade creditors such as fuel suppliers and caterers, etc, would have to continue to advance credit and hope to get paid. The courts cannot order them to do so...therefore the faith it 2T's financial future was doomed from the very outset. I am not surprised...nor dissappointed....after all AA stopped accepting miles from them in their FF program yesterday.....kind of makes you wonder.

The suppliers obviously did not want to take a chance and who can blame them.
