Canada 3000 Plane Held @ MAN

BBC is reporting that one of Canada 3000's aircraft has being held at MAN by the airport authority after landing on a flight from YYZ. Evidently, C3 has not paid its landing fees to MAN, and after the airline stopped trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange, airport police moved to seize the aircraft (which, under British law they are allowed to do).

Does anybody know which aircraft or what type it is?

Welcome to the UK?! Poor Canada 3000. Although their livery did have a very similar appearance to that of Air 2000's old one.

C3 started out as Air 2000 Canada with the UK carrier having 25% equity. The Cdn Govt disallowed this and the equity was sold to Canadian interests. C3 and Air 2000 UK maintained a 752 sharing operation and a similar colour scheme for a couple of years.

Panam, TWA, Ansett, Eastern.......AC next? Might be good for Canada.

Saw it very briefly on the local news tonight. If it was this morning's0745 to Toronto, it should be an A310-300

There are Canada 3000 planes seized almost everywhere in their route system. The end came as a surprise to everyone.

I suppose if you are the ATC, or fuel company or whatever, you would not let the aircraft leave until your company had personal assurances that you would be paid, regardless of what some foreign Canadian judge has just ruled.

Indeed, she does look sorry parked out in the sticks with the impounding paperwork stuck to the windshield like a parking ticket.  Crying

I was told this morning that the aircraft was impounded by MAA PLC after the "Cease Operations" message was issued, as C3 owe "a substantial amount" in overdue landing fees at MAN.

Dr Ho, I may be wrong, but I believe that had court protection been actioned before the "Cease operations" instruction had been issued, then C3 may have been able to get all their chicks back to base.

If, however, C3 had no option but to cease ops. before filing for protection, then it suggests to me that their situation was more dire than anyone imagined.
