Did Braniff really fly Concorde within the US with its own Cockpit and Cabin Crews?

Yes they did! Braniff crews operated the Concorde between DFW and IAD, whereupon BA crews would pick up the flight from IAD to LHR, and AF from IAD to CDG.

The service was operated from January 13, 1979, and was terminated in May 1980 due to high costs, and BA's ailing finances.

None of the aircraft were painted in Braniff colors. It was planned, but service was discontinued before that time.

The picture above shows how the Concorde would have looked if it had been painted in Braniff colors. Impressive indeed!

A superb color pictorial history of Braniff was published in 1993, entitled "Braniff International Airways-In Color" by George W. Cearley, Jr.

Did it fly supersonic DFW-IAD? I don't think so.

Nope, no supersonic flight over land.
Concorde flew at M0.95 on the DFW-IAD run. Kinda blew the advantage of flying Concorde.
