I've heard some rumours that the following airlines would operate/order Boeing 717:
-Aeromexico
-Aloha Airlines
-Transcend Executive Airlines (Swiss Startup May02)
-Aserca Airlines

Hi 717fan:
AeroMexico will introduces the new 717-200 because Boeing doesn't have the 737 NG which AeroMexico wants. Remember that the new mexican airline called VuelaMex pretends to fly with five Boeing 717-200.
In my opinion new operators for the 717 would be:
Aeropostal
Aserca
AMC Aviation
ALM Antillean Airlines
Spanair ( his subsidiary operates five 717-200)

The first two B717-200 for VuelaMex are ready for delivery in VuelaMex colours. VuelaMex is working on getting the upgrade of their air taxi license to full schedule airline to start service. They hope to get it by december, since the airliners are ready.
VuelaMex signed a contract with Pembroke Capital Aviaton to get 4 B717-23S that were originally destined to Aerolineas de Baleares (AEBAL / Spanair Link).
So Mexico will have the B717 in the skies soon.
AeroMexico won't get the B717 soon, since they don´t have enough money to do so. They are even loosing money. And since the sell of the ailine is not going to happend in the near future, AeroMexico will only get used MD80's and B767's for a while.

I saw this pic yesterday. VuelaMex actually has FOUR painted 717s ready for delivery, not two.

Forget Spanair. They have plans to drop their B717-200 fleet in favour of smaller regioanl jets which fit their structure better. Same could apply for Olympic Aviation.
