OK, I thought ATA was going to be the 2nd to last, but then while i was doing BA i thought of SAS. I am certainly NOT doing braniff but i may think of one or 2 more.

I like the newest one better right now...

But wouldn't it be cool if SAS painted one of their new A340's in the old Viking livery? So we could get that DC-8 vibe again...  Smile I think its a neat idea, several airlines have done it recently.

Even to this day, when I think of SAS I always thought of their stripes colour scheme. I guess it's because I got use to see them in stripes since I was born. The new colour scheme is great too but I just had many memories as a kid with the stripes.

I remember it well when they had 747s in the stripes livery. I even had a schabak model of it but I can't find it after I moved to live here in Florida from Thailand.  Sad

My all-time favorite SAS livery is one that is not illustrated...

...the later Viking ship livery of the 1970s-early '80s.

To me it looked especially good on their 'eights' and 'nines'

I liked how the last livery tied in all the national flag colours, instead of how they do it now (three little squares with their national flag motifs display.) Though I do like the colour scheme of the new aircraft. I just wished they kept the stripes in some form or another, as it was a key distinguishing feature of their corporate branding, as a whole.

I've always liked the old one, with the Viking cheatline and head....

Looks great!

Okay, the Vikingship had more relations with the Scandinavian region but in time of globalization the new SAS is superb. Clear, tastefull and just state of the art! Especially the non-white fuselage is just G-R-E-A-T!

As the first viking one, was before my time, I've never seen it in operation. So my choice would be the newest one, but I also like the one with the stripes of the scandinavian flags, but that's probably because it's going away now and getting rare, so perhaps that one is my favorite?? Big grin

I like the current one the best. The almost white fuselage with two colour spots, I love it.

Especially on the 736, looks amazing.

I grew up with the Viking Ship scheme of the late 50's and 60's,so this ranks as my all-time favourite.

An A340 or 330 in a "retro" version would be great!

BTW,the "flags" on the present scheme are referred to as "pixels" and are the most frequently complained about ideas of the new corporate image, followed by the uniforms.

The current scheme looks best on the 736, the previous one on the MD80s.

I like the stripes livery better, but the new one is great IF you see it in the right light. Too bright, and the grey looks white and boring. Too dark and the grey looks depressing. Just the right amount of sunlight makes it very attractive.
