I don't know what happened to my last message talkin' about the interior pics of the 777, I think it was deleted i don't know why.
Well, the pics of interior of Varig's 777 are online.
The address is the following:
http://br.geocities.com/alternafly/gal4.htm
The website was offline (I don't know the reason) for an hour but it's online again.

Rodrigo Sánchez

The link worked fine for me...
I noticed that the economy configuration is going to be 3x3x2 - that will be really comfortable. Take note 3x4x3 777 operators (noteably BA and Emirates). If Varig can do it, why can't others? Oh well...

I have a good friend who travels to Rio three times a year on business. He tells me that Varig is far superior to United (he always travels F class). Is the Varig service honestly better?

I got the following message:

Desculpe, este site está temporariamente indisponível!

O site que você está tentando acessar excedeu sua quantidade de transferência de dados permitida.

O acesso a este site será reabilitado dentro de uma hora. Por favor, tente novamente mais tarde.

So, I guess your site exceeded its allowable amount of data or something and is thus temporarily unavailable. I think it also says that the site will be rehabilitated in under 1 hour, so to try again later. I don’t know enough Portuguese to understand any more than that. Hopefully, it will work in an hour.

I love America. I guess that makes me Bush's poodle, but I'd rather be a dog in New York City than a prince in Riyadh.

Hi Stretch... sincerely? Yes.
Everybody who travels on both companies says that Varig's service is much better. Everybody talk about the comfort, the meal served and the crew. Here in Brazil we have an image that AAL/UAL/COA/DAL have the worst service we could imagine. Everybody coming back from travels with them says the F/A are rude, the meal is a sh*t and the comfort is very bad. I don't know if it's true... I don't know the service of american airlines, I know just Varig service and I can confirm: It's very good. Was better in the past but keep on being the best today in Brazil.

But, that's the problem: ALWAYS the site goes offline and this message is showed up: "In one hour your site will come back to the air"... all the time. And we wait one hour, and the message appears again..... I think I'll have to change the server.
And, if you really understood the message your portuguese is very good!!! Congratulations!!!

You should look into other free web hosting services. Maybe even just regular Yahoo! instead of br.yahoo!

I could never speak Portuguese; I only know how to read enough to understand the context. I know Spanish and French, so maybe being able to speak those languages helps me to read some Portuguese.

Good luck with your site. I'd like to see the Varig pics when you get it up and running.

Tsully

In regards to the comments made about Varigs service,
I must agree. I flew Varig in 97, and found this carrier to be excellent in terms of comfort, food quality, and the unbelievable friendliness of the cabin crew. Great Airline. I recently saw a Varig MD-11 in FRA in October.
Is it true they are replacing these wonderful aircraft?

As we all know, I'm experiencing problems with Yahoo/Geocities BRAZIL and I'm here to announce that my website (http://br.geocities.com/alternafly) will stay online BUT I'm with a new project to build the page "Varigaholics" (I already have the address on Geocities U.S.A.) where I'll keep the world informed about Varig news with very accurate details as in my actual website but IN ENGLISH! When this new project get ready to be online, I'll inform you all and the other website will be "closed".

Hope you like it. Regards from Rio,
Rodrigo Sánchez

P.S.: I promess, the english used on the website will be better than this, at least, I'll try to make!

If I had to choose Varig 777 over another airline, I would any minute, those F class seats look great, and the coach is only 3x3x2!!!!!!

Personally, I find Varig better than the AMerican carriers. Most of my trips to Brazil involve traveling to Porto Alegre, and I fly Delta or United to GRU, then change to either TAM or Varig for the POA leg. I find the FAs, food, and service much more personal, and the flying experience much better. Brazilians love aviation!

Tchau!

Hey guys,
Today I got a SMS on my cellphone that a friend of mine saw the new airplane landing on POA [porto alegre international airport] around noon for demonstration flight and returned to GIG around 3 PM. Is it true?

All his friends from the Aeronautics School of the Catholic University here in Porto Alegre, for those who knows what I'm talking about, were told about that an hour before and rushed to the airport. He told me the spotting from the deck was completely in silence, everyone was amazed with the aircraft, with the Varig livery including the Star Alliance logo.

Does anybody know which routes the triple 7 will take?

I'm also a Varig fan, from POA, and... a girl...
I've been here on the forum since 1999  Smile You guys can mail me to exchange ideas too.

I can´t believe why Varig has chosen to install - though fully reclineable - very old-fashioned First Class seats. Why haven´t they adopted the new cabin-like environment instead of 2+2+2 abreast seating. Any whay haven´t Varig chosen another colour for the seats? They are as ugly as the old brown First and Business Class seats on their MD-11s in the mid 1990s!!

Personally I find the individual seating very, very comfortable and I don´t fly First Class anymore unless it is with individual seating. The difference between old-fashioned First Class seating and most used Business Class seating nowadays is very, very small and not worth the extra money!

Anyway I agree that Varig is a great airline and I have always been very satisfied with the inflight service!

Thomas
