Hi folks,
The Nigerian press is suggesting that Nigeria Airways is flying to London Heathrow with Boeing 747-300 wet leased from Air Atlanta.
Also, the carriers' PR manager was quoted as saying they will resume ops to Dubai and Jeddah on Nov. 25 (2ice weekly).
Any validity in these reports???
Regards,
Hani

Aren't these Virgin flights using leased Air Atlanta 747s?

I don't think Nigeria has any of its 747s, this past summer at JFK, flights to LOS used SAA 744s sometimes with SAA titles and sometimes with joint South African and Nigeria Airways titles.

According to the press here in Iceland, Air Atlanta Icelandic and Nigeria Airways have made a six month contract which involves that Air Atlanta Icelandic will operate domestic flights between some Nigerian cities as well as international flight from Lagos to London, Dubai and Jedda (and back of course). The contract can be extended another six months if Nigeria Airways is interested in doing so.

The flights will be operated using Boeing 747-300 aircrafts.

At Manston a Boeing 747 of Air Atlanta was seen with Nigeria Airways titles and a small logo on the tail. Fuselage is all white. Registration is TF-ATS

Asgiers,

Is Air Atlanta Icelandic using the 747 to fly the domestic flights as well? Are you sure they're contracted to operate domestic flights? with what
a/c types?

Would appreciate info on this,

Thanks

Hani

Hi Hani!
Air Atlanta is only operating the 747-300 flights
internally as part of the international flight to London
and Dubai
They do however have traffic rights LAGOS/KANO/LAGOS and LAGOS/PORT HARCOURT/LAGOS

Cheers
