I thought Swissair were bankrupt but I just got a photo from the Zurich webcam and there is 2 A320 ans 1 DC-10 ON STAND AND BEING SERVICED. now if they are bankrupt then I wouldnt expect them to have aircraft at stands being readied for departure

Swissair's a basket case. It did file bankruptcy, but was reorganized and "integrated" into Crossair and now flies as a much smaller carrier. I don't know how many aircraft are now in the fleet in comparison, but I believe that capacity shrunk by about a 1/3. Can anybody verify?

They keep on flying empty seats over the Atlantic. We don't have *that* much work at the Qualiflyer check-in counter, so I often check the passenger numbers on SR100 through SR130, which are SR's transatlantic flights. It's sad, but for any reason there are at least 15 tons of cargo on every flight.

The Swiss Government decided this evening that Swissair is going to fly untill end of March 2002. But after March 2002 it isn't clear yet what will happen to Swissair.
So don't be afraid to book on Swissair.
