Jacksonville Craig Airport (CRG) has an ILS on runway 32... it is 3998 feet long. I fly this approach all the time in real life.

London City (LCY) is ~ 4000' long and sees daily commercial air traffic.

I understand that there are some oil rigs that have ILS approches to their landing pads.

Isn't PVC on Cape Cod one of the shortest runways in the country with an ILS? I know they had to get some sort of exception to have it as minimun runway for an ILS is like 5500 feet. Anyone know for sure?

With the possible exception of an aircraft carrier the runway needs to be at least a 1,000 ft long because that is where the glideslope antenna is located (1000 feet from the end of the runway). Also precision runway markings extend 3,000 feet down the runway, so now it seems that the shortest you could have would be 3,000 feet.

London city. The runway is so short that many aircraft must spool up to full power before releasing brakes.
