HI everyone
I live right along the landing patterns of Philadelphia International airport and watch planes all day. so i have heard that airtran wanted a second focus city somewhere in the northeast. i remember philly being a possibility, but am not sure if that will happen any more because in the past month or so airtran added 6 destinations from baltimore. does any one know what is going on and if airtran will expand its operations out of philly. thanks alot

AirTran is getting 4 gates in the D concourse once the hammerhead is completed, from what I've heard. If they stay with their 12 daily flights for a bit while using four precious gates, the Airport will be very pissed.
In summary, expect it to go up to 20-30 daily flights unless they either give up the gates or lease them.
