Hi everyone,

I guess everyone knows that the A330/A340 touches down 2 times... especially on the A330. I always see that pilot push the nose down before the undercarriage of the aircraft touches down completely. I am wondering, how do the A330 for example, it's wheels kisses the ground but do not descend until the pilot pushes the nose down? the aircraft descends on the glideslope and even at flare but how does it float without the whole undercarrige on the ground?

Thanks

alvin

The trick with landing any airplane is - don't let it land! Once you round out and flare, hold the aircraft Straight and Level for all you're worth - the speed will bleed off off its own accord and you'll grease onto the runway!!!! (hmmmm.. well thats what's supposed to happen). It works from a C-150 to a 744 to an F-15, only the Harrier is different.
