I was reading an article of a possible hijacker/bomber who was going plotting and blowing up 12 other airliners in 1993. He was convicted in 1993. Does this have something to do with TWA 800 as it was said in the article..?? Seem like either a electrical caused the explosion of TWA 800 or either the possible hijacker/bomber exploded TWA800... here the story.....
"Yousef, a professional terrorist who belongs to a new breed of Islamic mercenaries trained in Afghan wars, was captured in Pakistan and extradited to the U.S. last year. He is now entering his eighth week of trial in New York City, accused of masterminding a fiendishly elaborate plot to blow up 12 U.S. passenger planes over the Pacific. While State Department counterterrorism experts believe Yousef's cell was shut down with his arrest, the FBI and intelligence community will undoubtedly seek to determine if Yousef disciples or copycats unacquainted with him but desirous of achieving his status are at large and plotting revenge for Yousef's imprisonment.
While revenge or craziness might be a motive for blowing up the TWA flight, analysts say, it is implausible that Yousef's friends would commit such an act in the hopes of freeing him from jail. "There is no clear reason why, with his trial in progress, they would strike at this time," says Magnus Ranstorp, an Islamic specialist at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. "Perhaps after his sentencing, but not now." http://www.time.com/time/twa/suspects/yousef.html
