NWA annouced today that its expansion was offically on hold, except for the part that is to open in Febraury. This is due to the slowing of the economy. Read it in the Star Tribune here in Minneapolis.
NWa encougred the MSP Airport Commision to continue with its expansion on concourses B, which I believe is the expasnion for the regional airlines and concourse C. MSP will has alwasy been under construction sicne I have been born and i think it always will be. NEw runway going to open soon here.
Well, this really isn't a big deal for right now. Let's get Phase I of the Midfield Terminal open first!! Heck, they'll already have more gates than they do currently do.

Just got back from a trip that took me to both MSP and DTW.
Started in MSP this morning and noticed that the expansion to C, and the new buildings of A and B are coming along. Passenger train stations are taking form and all but the A terminal I believe is expected to open in June 2002. That have incidently though, discontinued all other captial projects, including the completion of that useless runway.
DTW, the terminal looks wonderful, took two taxiing tours today (landed on 21L and taxiied allllllll the way around to the G then C concourses on the two occasions... via the Toledo transition). The ground was actually broken for the second phase along time ago, and it is obvious. Wonder what tehy'll do now. All the jetways are in, it has power at night and is quite a sight! The rwy is done, just not commisioned, per ATIS. So, it really isn't a big deal that the phase 2 isn't going ahead at this time. WE'll still get the best terminal this country will have. The Westin is taking shape too...
