I must say that the Vanguard liveries are pretty miserable. It is a typical low fare livery that I can see in one of those desert book editions in a few years. It's tacky and unprofessional and low-class. Its crap.
Pesonally I think the best liveries are:
Virgin
Delta
AirTran
Iberia
The worst are:
Vanguard
British Airways
Aeroflot
Vietnam Airlines

Well at least the new livery is an improvement over the old livery...yuck! The bright green 737 does not look too great, but I think a few of the colors look ok on the M80's, like the maroon M87 for instance. I saw the blue MD-80 the other day....it looked pretty nice.

I didn't think it was all that bad - better than the old. The more airlines change their colors, the more I like American Airlines. Honestly, it stands the test of time.

Kind of a dumb post considering you haven't specified which livery you think is crap.

Yeah. The old Vanguard looks like a wannabe America West paintjob. Now that TWA is gone (*sniff*), I think the new Vanguard is the nicest paint flying on a U.S. carrier.

I kind of like Vanguard's new liveries. At least they don;t look like everyone else and stand out. It reminds me of the old days of Braniff when their planes were different colors.
I agree that Vanguard's first livery was hideous. To me it looked like something straight out of the 1960's.

8 colors altogether if I remember correctly. Maybe a purple, red, and orange? No gray, unless it is VERY dark. Light gray would make the plane look dirtier IMO.

I guess I'm biased but I love all of the colors. I think its unique & fills the gap of the flying colors of Branniff at MCI. Yes, there will be more colors but I don't know what. Keep flyin' high Vanguard.

Vanguard has one of the best liveries in the US. I actually think the green looks pretty good on the 737. The Maroon is probably their best of the colors. Its nice to see an airline put some colors on their planes.
