Hi Airliners.net forum friends,

My uncle in law in London Ontario e-mailed me this morning and he wrote that the former Royal Airlines' erector will start a new Canadian charter airline. Who is this guy (is it Michel Leblanc or somebody else?)? Do you have more information about this whole matter? Perhaps I missed the information. Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Air Orange

Could this have to do with that Canada Air Charter with 767's and 747's? I think things are getting really weird in Canadian aviation.

It is Micheal Leblanc. I think that he is going to by some of the former Canada 3000 planes and start-up a new low-cost airline for the east half of Canada.

I like British Airways! I'm not sure why, but I do! ;-)

I wonder when something specific is finally said. The most recent news I've heard is that he wants to start with 7 of the 737-200's and operate routes with Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, St John's, Halifax and Thunder Bay, among others. He is looking at a February start date.

I have to wonder how well-financed this start-up will be. It has to be hard to find a lot of people willing to invest in such a high-cost, high failure rate, low profit margin (if any) industry.

Will Winnipeg be in the route network. Is this the same charter airline that wants to have 767's and 747's flying across the pond that Michael Le Blanc has in mind as well for may 02?

Maybe he just expects to get bought out by Air Canada and he's looking to make some quick dough on other people's time.

Mike the White trying to get back in the game, again? Heck, I've been hearing that talk even before the fall of C3. I heard other stuff, too..... but, I'm not gonna set myself up for being liabel to slander.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
