Just got back from the airport picking up a relative and he said that his flight was the fastest to Montreal that he has ever taken in like 30 years. It was a 30 minute flight, the pilot said there were some major tail winds.

Anybody have any other tail wind stories?

Oh it was on Air Canada's Tango, scheduled to depart at 10:50. It actually departed at 10 after and arrived are around 11:42....fast

I think you mean that it departed at 11:00. I myself have flown YUL-YYZ in about 20' onboard a 747-200 of Olympic Airways.

Hi,
I flew YYZ-YUL in august, we departed about 45 minutes late (8:57 pm instead of 8:10 pm) and we arrived at 9:41 pm instead of 9:14 pm. The flight was exactly 44 min. 21 sec. long (t/o to land) and the cpt. also told us that we had strong tail winds. It was on a DC-9.

That's the shortest flight I've ever had between the two cities.

I once flew YVR-YYZ in just 3 hours on a CP B747 -- pilot said we had 150 mph tailwind.

I once did Winnipeg to Toronto in just over 1 hr 30 mins. We had to wait on the apron because they had no ground personnel ready for us beause of our early arrival. It was something like 120 mph tailwinds.

The fastest I ever did YVR-YYZ was 3 hours 25 minutes a few years back on an AC 747. (normally just over 4 hours)

Yikes, I hope my tango flight in Jan. is not that fast! I am flying YYZ-YUL just because I hate the bus and I got a good fare, but I want it to last!!! i'd prefer a headwind on such a short flight...

Next flight.... who knows.

Wow that's pretty fast! I've flown YYZ-YUL many times and the best I've done is just over 45 minues.. last flight on Thursday was 50-55 minutes.

I think my most unusual flight time as one I had once YUL-AMS which was done in something like 4:50 instead of the usual 6-7 hours. I've even had a 9 hour return on that run once...

but for Tango and 30 minutes, pretty neat.

My dad flew Syracuse-Boston, a distance similar to that of YYZ-YUL in 30 minutes on a US F100! That's 250 mi (400km) in 30 minutes, or 500mph (800km/h)!!

This summer i flew between Belgrade and Podgorica on a domestic flight (about the same distance as YYZ-YUL), in 35 minutes. This was on board a JAT B737-300. The flight usually takes 50 minutes.
