Frontier Airlines Re-inaugurates Service to Washington National (December 12, 2001)

DENVER (Dec. 12, 2001) - Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) is proud to re-inaugurate service today into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). The airline began operating one daily non-stop round-trip flight between DCA and Denver International Airport (DIA) on Sept. 7, 2000 after receiving two "beyond-perimeter" slots as part of the Wendell H. Ford Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century ("AIR 21"). The airline suspended service to DCA when that airport was closed after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. With today's resumed service, Frontier operates one of only four non-stop, "beyond perimeter" flights at DCA, and provides the only non-stop service between DCA and Denver International Airport.

Frontier's President and Chief Operating Officer Jeff Potter stated: "We appreciate the diligent efforts of the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Transportation in establishing enhanced security measures throughout our air system and especially at Reagan National Airport. With our recently expanded codeshare with Great Lakes and our newest codeshare partner with Mesa Airlines, we look forward to providing a convenient, affordable, one-stop option to many smaller communities via Denver International Airport."

Following is the new Washington National flight schedule:

Denver to Ronald Regan Washington National

Flight Number Departs Arrives Frequency
724 11:05 a.m. 4:20 p.m. Daily

Ronald Regan Washington National to Denver

Flight Number Departs Arrives Frequency
667 6:00 p.m. 7:55 p.m. Daily

All times listed above reflect local arrival or departure city times.

With the resumed service, Frontier will offer convenient connections beyond Denver to Albuquerque, El Paso, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, Reno/Lake Tahoe, Sacramento (service begins Feb. 26), San Diego, San Francisco, Salt Lake City and Seattle. The airline will operate from Reagan National's Terminal B.

The perimeter rule at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport limits non-stop flights from that airport to 1,250 miles or less. With the passage of AIR-21, twelve beyond perimeter slots, or enough to allow six non-stop flights beyond the 1,250 limit, were authorized during the summer of 2000. After the events of Sept. 11, all commercial air service at DCA was suspended and recently, only four of the six beyond perimeter flights at DCA were authorized to resume.

Denver-based Frontier Airlines is the second largest jet service carrier at Denver International Airport, serving 25 cities coast to coast with a fleet of 29 aircraft and employing approximately 2,300 aviation professionals. In June 2001, BusinessWeek ranked Frontier 14th on its list of Hot Growth Companies and in September 2001, Fortune magazine ranked Frontier 41st on its 100 Fastest Growing Companies list. Frontier provides capacity and other data and industry comparisons on its Web site, which may be viewed at www.frontierairlines.com.

Frontier is also to add a 2nd daily non-stop flight to Baltimore/Washington Int'l Airport (BWI) on Feb. 26.

Frontier is also trying to get a 3rd and 4th slot at DCA so they can begin a 2nd daily non-stop flight.
