Hello all.

I have just got back from Bangkok and saw an Ansett 737 parked up down the end of the remote parking area, by the freighters. I know this aircraft is probably on it's way to new owners, or operators, or just being returned. I saw it (Thursday) next to HS-UTP, the Orient Thai 747-200 and XU100, the Orient Thai L1011.
The question is, does anyone know the registration, and where it is going?

Thanks.

Orient Thai Airlines have a 747-200 now? wow..I wish I could at least see a picture of it! I'm not sure, the 737 could go to Orient Thai but I doubt Thai Airways. Well, they could go to Angel Airlines but they change their fleet to A300s right? I'm not sure, hope somebody could tell us!

The Orient Thai is white all over with titles, so it's not very exciting.

The Ansett 737 was probably on it's way through BKK and not for any airline there.

Hi Cx flyboy,

could you confirm which B737 series you saw in BKK?

This is because there was a B737-200 with a palm tree on the tail and a very colourful cheatline - it belongs to Phuket Air, a new airline that is to start operation on 19 Dec (last I heard yesterday, it was due to begin on 1 Jan 2002).

You could get a glimpse of this aircraft at http://www.phuketairlines.com

The aircraft is right now in Ranong in South Thailand and is scheduled to return to BKK this evening at 1700hrs.

Orient Thai do have a 747. Thats why he said he saw a Orient Thai 747 !!. Its ex JAL.

Aviasian,

He saw one of the Phuket airlines 737-200's. He only wants to know about the Ansett 733.

Are you sure it was a 737? I think BZF (763) passed thru there on it's way to europe about the same time.

Speaking for Flyboy, he's a spotter and a pilot so he knows a 733 from a 763.

Indeed I do. It was definately a 737-300 of Ansett.

The Orient Thai was a 747-200 ex JA8114 of JAL. It is all white with titles.

I also saw Phuket airlines 737-200 HS-AKO. Different colours!! The cheatline is kind of like Air 2000.

Hmmm. So all this banter and still no one knows? Some one must know of an Ansett 737 leaving Australia with a funny flight number bound northwards!
