I saw the special 25th anerversey aircraft of mesasba, the one with the route map on it. It's registration is N439XJ, and I saw it at ATY (Watertown, SD) It was flying flight 2844 to MSP via Aberdeen SD ABR. This aircraft is really neat.

We see it quite frequently up here in Thunder Bay, ON. Mesaba has done a nice job on this one, or I should say two! There are actually two SAAB 340B's painted like the map you are talking about in the Mesaba Fleet. It outlines all of the destinations they served when the aircraft where painted (about a year an a half ago I think) direct from the factory.

Keep watching, you'll never know what you will see!

Chances are you will not be able to get on one of the 2 aircraft, this summer i lived parrelle (spelling) to one of ATY's runways so i got the best view of the runway just acrros the road, and during the summer i only saw the aircraft 2 times.

Hello Again!

Mesaba rotates both the aircraft through their entire network so that all destinations get a visit from one of the aircraft. How frequently that is I do not know, but, in YQT we see it about once every other month.
