You may think its fake b/c of spacing, but its spaced oddly b/c a mechanic put tape on the airplane to change the logo to UNTIED therefore messing up spacing. the I became a T and the T became an I.

I looked at the referenced website, but I see no assurance that the picture is real. There is obvious touch-up around the letter "I" which, in the real picture, was obviously the "T". The serifs on the doctored-up "T" also do not look quite right.
There is no doubt in my mind that the picture has been altered after it was taken.

While we initially believed that the image was a playful Photoshop job, two UAL employess have assured us that it's the "real deal." One worker comments:
If you don't already know the original logo was taped over with the correct color tape into the UNTIED logo about 2 weeks ago. It was removed last wednesday and the boss wants to know who did this against FAA regulations! Though he is correct, some people have no sense of humor.
