Haven't we already seen this part something like half a year ago. It was definately in the (Dutch) news papers, and I believe it has also featured on A.net as well.

Without any paint, that frontsection looks a little like the Nimrods that RAF opperates.

I doubt that this is a part of a real a/c, rather a mock-up. Wasn't the first parts supposed to be made in 2002?

This is definetely a Mock-Up. If this is a real part, I will fall over because it looks as though it has been torn off.

I doubt this is a real part of the A380 because the cockpits windows are supposed to go on the middle between the first and second floor (as for the drawings we have seen so far)

Just my two cents

Happy holidays to all!

As 380s become common, people will get used to it, and that long sloping forehead will endear itself to many people, just as the 747's hump has.

The cockpit windows are in the right place - just a little above the main deck...

But I agree it´s most certainly the nose of the mockup destined for display in tolouse. Someone posted pictures of the finished mockup a few days ago.

First metal for the prototype is to be cut in February 2002, according to Airbus.

For those who cannot read French, this article is about the modification of a road beteen Bordeaux (Langon) and Toulouse, to accomodate the big trucks carrying parts of fuselage.(not all the parts will fit in the Beluga, despite its size!!!)
That's why you see on the picture the mockup on a truck.
First trucks are supposed to use this road in 93.
Currently, Airbus is starting the construction of 2 big factories in Toulouse and Hambourg.

I really really hope that isn't the final design for the shape of the nosecone.

They are right it does look like a rip-off of the Nimrod design.

Does anybody know if there are some pics of the new factories that they are building in TLS and XFS?
I was in Hamburg-Finkenwerder in april and then they just started to fill up the "Mühlenberger Loch".

That looks an awful lot like the front section of a C-141 to me.

Damn, this website is getting worse daily.
